Examining the space between beautiful and grotesque, we ask - what goes in, comes out of, and is felt by our bodies? Why do we look away from it?
Our exploratory works blur the boundaries between internal and external worlds, confusing and opening up our intimate relationships with self.
In Icky Sticky Wonder, Yumemi evokes a bathing room, a slow, private space for self care, self judgement and curious exploration. Seeing bathing as a ritualistic time to cleanse, reflect and converse with yourself, Yumemi invites you into her internal world as she explores her relationship to her body and sensuality.
